Prior to Sunday’s sailing, racers were checking the forecast with trepidation, as the strong predicted winds would have put paid to any races on the day: however, on arrival on Sunday morning the winds were strong but not to the level predicted – so whilst the morning series was abandoned, the winds had abated enough by the afternoon to allow racing to go ahead. The conditions were ideally suited to the Yeomans who enjoyed some competitive racing on Hoveton Little Broad. The first race saw Geoff Stubbs sailing Tara pull out an early lead, with Roger Pettit second in Anaoh, and Bernie Westgate third in Misty Morning. The second race saw Geoff extend his lead, finishing over a length of the Broad ahead of the next sailor, with Anaoh and Misty Morning switching places. Racing is planned to continue next week on Hoveton Little Broad with Reedlings, Rebels & Yare & Bures in the morning, Cruisers in the morning and lunchtime and Yeomans & Dinghies during the afternoon.
