Hi everyone,
Whilst we all still recover from Horning Week, it has been back to our usual activities – the Sundown series on Saturday (with the line ably run by Hamish, Xanthe and Edward), Club racing on the Broad Sunday, a lively Paddleboarding session on Monday and Training taking place on Thursday.
This weekend sees the Sundown Series continue tomorrow (Saturday – 4pm onwards), club racing on the river Sunday, and paddleboarding Monday – the weather looks to be very encouraging for the next few days, so please come down and make the most of it.
Commodore’s Update
Welcome to this week’s Jibsheet, yet another week has flown by, Monday we had a lovely evening with a small group of Paddleboarders, with some new people coming to join in, following this we had the management meeting.
The replacement of the Quay heading continues at the rear of the island, so please be careful around the area at this time.
Saturday is the Sundown Series, so come down and join in a relaxed series of racing.
Could we ask the owner of the dinghy trailer that has been placed under the tree near the tyres to remove it please, also a reminder that boats & trailers should not be left in the car park.
After returning from the ITCA Topper Nationals in Pwllheli, Wales, where Abbey represented HSC, she came overall 44th. There were some challenging conditions, especially on the Friday, with massive waves & strong winds, well done to Abbey. It was also a busy week for me as CSL (Course Safety Lead) for the event.
I hope you all have a great weekend, hopefully the sun will come out.
Will – Commodore HSC

Vice-Commodore’s Clew
After the excitement of Horning Week, the Club now continues to follow the normal programme of weekend sailing and weekly training activity, and our next social events will be coming up in September and October, as published in the White Book. We our also now starting to plan additional activities to take us into the winter months and we will have more to say about that soon.
I have been taking a bit of a break on the ‘other’ boat in a salt water environment but will be back for this weekend’s activities, for which the weather looks set fair. See you there.
