Horning Sailing Club enjoyed a weekend in the Autumn sunshine with the conclusion of their Sundown series on Saturday afternoon, seeing a great turnout of dinghies and keelboats taking part, followed by a down river race to Thurne on Sunday, with several visiting boats participating. Starting from Woods Dyke Boat Yard, first away were the cruisers, with five sailing. As the winds picked up it was a lively race – and first to Thurne and back was Ladybird, helmed by Ben Knight. First Keelboat both ways was Allan Dornan’s Yeoman Nimrod, and first dinghy was Willem Johnston’s 420.
Next weekend sees the Yeoman & Kinsman National Championships take place on Hoveton Little Broad, and Club racing on the river.
