It was another gusty weekend’s racing at Horning Sailing Club, with a decent breeze providing for some exciting racing. There was particularly close racing amongst the Yeomans and Yares & Bures, despite the unseasonable weather having somewhat of an impact on the turnout.
The first Yeoman race saw all the competitors finish within one minute of each other, won by Steve Middleditch and Maria Spreadbury in Scorpio, ahead of Geoff and Michael Stubbs sailing Tara, with Paul Clarke and Andy Tabiner third in Two C Sons. The second race saw further close racing, with two minutes separating the entire fleet with Toby Fields and Daniel Blackwell in Tanskey first, Tara second and Two C Sons third. The afternoon race saw Scorpio take another win ahead of Two C Sons.
The Yare & Bures also saw close sailing, with Jack Copping, Jack Barnham and Thomas Wildman winning ahead of Kevin Saunders and Richard Wagstaff in Silver Cloud.
The dinghies saw Splashes and Lasers compete, with the first race won by Hamish Harmer, ahead of Anya Gittins second and Julian Mander third (all in Splashes). The second race was won by Hamish, with Kim West second in his Laser, before Hamish went on to win the last two races too.
This weekend sees racing continue on the river.
