Hi everyone,

Regatta Week is almost here!

After the year it’s been, a few months ago it was hard to envisage that Regatta Week could even run – but here we are, and Saturday (tomorrow!) sees the return of Horning Week after a year’s break. We have a full programme of sailing and socials for you to enjoy, with plenty happening both on and off the water.

The action starts Saturday afternoon with racing on Hoveton Little Broad – which continues on Sunday after the Regatta Church Service (more on that below). Monday-Friday we move to racing on the River, with activity on the water from 9.30am-6pm, followed by socials every night. We really hope that you can join us. The full race programme is available in the White Book, and socials can be found here, you can also book your racing here.

If you are attending the bingo or quiz nights, we would be incredibly grateful if you could please bring a wrapped fun bingo prize (something funny or small – but keep it clean!) – along with a raffle prize. Thank you.

Due to Regatta Week, there will be no paddleboarding on Monday evening, training on Thursday evening, or Sundown series (on 31st July or 7th August). These will resume the following week.

As preparations are in full swing, we’re focusing on getting the Island ready (and a huge thank you to 1st Hoveton & Wroxham Sea Scouts for the loan of the tents!), along with final plans for racing and socials – we look forward to seeing you there!

Club Clothing

We are now used to seeing and using QR codes so we have set one up for Club Clothing!

You will see it displayed in the club house. Just use your camera to scan it and you will be taken directly to the app where you can view, select and buy your new club outfit.

So easy!

Happy shopping!

Pauline

P.S. I will have a selection of clothing for sale at bargain prices during Regatta Week.

Also, there will be water bottles with the Club logo for sale.

Horning Week Service

On Sunday before racing begins there will be a short service at 9.30am. This is one of the Horning Week traditions and a time to pause and reflect alongside the River. Led by Ian Johnson with contributions from other club members, we will also welcome people from the Horning community who wish to celebrate our regatta.
Everyone is welcome, see you there.
